Tea Length

A 1950′s and 60′s inspired gown style that is easy to wear and stylish, whilst retaining a certain vintage charm. Usually with an A line skirt, a very simple and chic look can be achieved. By the addition of a petticoat, a more flamboyant appearance will result alongside the creation of an even tinier waist!


Mermaid

A more figure-hugging shape than the column dress, this has a flare at the base of the skirt. This is the dress for the bride wanting to accentuate her curvaceous figure.

A-Line

The A shaped dress is a style that suits most figures. It hugs the waist so flatters slim waistlines whilst making the most of the bust. The A line will cover wider hips effectively. The degree of flare in the skirt can vary. The bodices are often corseted.

Ball Gown Style

The ball gown is by far the most traditional style of bridal gown that creates a classic, elegant look. They often have a corseted bodice which is great for all shapes, especially a fuller figured bride as it ‘holds and moulds’. The skirts can vary dependant upon fabric and structure to give varying degrees of fullness from the heavy to the soft and light. Petite brides can also opt for this fairytale look providing the skirt is not too full.

Bias

The bias cut is diagonal rather than the vertical seams of the column dress. This style suits the slimmer bride who has the perfect figure and is great for those who are either tall or petite.


Empire

simple, streamline cut that is not figure hugging. The skirt descends from below the bust. A great style for brides with a smaller bust and the long line makes petite brides look taller. The A line is superb at concealing wider hips. It is also a good choice for pregnant brides as the lack of waist means there is no constriction.


Fishtail

Like the column or the mermaid from the front, this gown is differentiated by an extra panel of fabric at the back of the skirt that fans out creating a ‘fishtail’ shape.


Column

The slim profile of this dress closely follows the body’s curves. It embodies a very ‘sex and the city’ trend of modern femininity and will give you that catwalk look. This style flatters tall and willowy brides but the unbroken line will work well for those who are petite.
